Our Missoula Fly Fishing Guides
Missoula Fly Fishing Trips is a licensed Montana outfitter (#36888) and the guide service of the Missoulian Angler Fly Shop, Missoula’s oldest fly shop. Our guides are a small core crew of locals, most of whom have fished these rivers their whole lives. They are friendly, they work hard, and they know this water the way you only can from years of rowing it.
Every guide here is vetted by Taylor Scott, the licensed outfitter who runs these trips. He floats and fishes with each guide on a regular basis to make sure they are safe on the water, know the rivers, and handle guests and fish the right way. He keeps the crew small on purpose, and we cap the operation at six boats a day, so every guest and every guide gets real attention. This was never built to be a high-volume operation, and that is the point.
About ninety percent of our trips run on the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, and Clark Fork, all within minutes of downtown Missoula. You pick your trip and your dates, and your guide puts you on the river that is fishing best that day. Our guides genuinely like teaching, so first-timers are always welcome, and if you have fished with one of them before and want them again, book early and ask.
